This bespoke garden transformation in Dunholme is a testament to the full-service approach we deliver at ALS Landscaping, as it includes the very best of garden design and construction. To bring this garden to life and create a space our clients could enjoy, we redesigned the layout, built new surfacing and relied on premium materials for lasting appeal.
Project Overview
Our goal for this garden transformation project was to create a serene, accessible outdoor space that our clients could use throughout the year to relax and unwind. A large focus was placed on the natural elements, such as the beautiful blossom trees, throughout the garden design to make the most of the surroundings while incorporating functionality with high-end paving.
Pathways And Circular Paving Feature
A stunning combination of porcelian and block paving was used throughout this garden transformation project to create a durable yet stylish foundation to the landscape. For the porcelian paving, we installed Brett’s Spring Blend, which is a light tone porcelian paving which is inspired by natural stone.
This allows the landscape to highlight the beautiful natural surroundings while also offering a touch of elegance and years of use, which is only guaranteed with porcelain paving.
For the circular paving feature, which is the main focal point of this garden transformation, we use Alpha Blocks in Brindle. This is bordered in Omega for a stunning contrast.
To keep the landscape accessible, a combination of block-paved pathways have been installed. We used both linear and herringbone layouts for subtle texture to increase the visual appeal of the garden.
Planting: With Over 100 Shrubs!
As paving is a main part of this garden transformation, we required some natural elements to soften the appearance of the landscape. An incredible 150 shrubs have been planted and maintained across the Dunholme landscape to offer texture and visual appeal while also supporting biodiversity.
To frame the hardscaping and create a beautiful contrast to our newly paved areas, high-quality turf has been installed at the centre of the garden.
Custom Porcelian Planters And Garden Features
Using the same Spring Blend porcelian paving, our team constructed custom porcelian planters for additional colour and greenery. This creates a cohesive appearance to the garden and highlights the key features of the design.
To evoke a sense of calm and tranquility in this new garden, we also installed a contemporary water feature. The ambient noise of running water drowns out surrounding sounds and creates a spa-like atmosphere for our clients.
A garden needs to be functional as well as beautiful, which is why we also built a Dutch barn shed. Our team oversaw the complete build, including the foundational preparation and base installation to keep the shed stable over time.
