Our Process

Step 1

Showroom Consultation

Our garden design process begins in the ALS Landscaping showroom, where we can discuss your vision in person. The environment is relaxed and friendly, giving you plenty of time to get comfortable with our team while enjoying complimentary tea, coffee and refreshments.

This visit is an opportunity to learn more about what we do, explore material samples, and get inspired by our previous projects. We can also review photos of your current garden and discuss your thoughts and ideas, helping us understand the space and your goals before moving forward.

Step 2

Design Questionnaire

Our detailed questionnaire forms the foundation for a tailored garden design that reflects both your taste and requirements perfectly. This questionnaire is based on your lifestyle, preferences, and functional needs, so we can get a clear idea of what is required early on.

The information we get from this personal questionnaire will be used throughout the rest of the garden design process to keep us on track and ensure we are tailoring the landscape to your specifications.

Step 3

On-Site consultation

Our team will visit your site to assess the current landscape, take measurements and discuss your ideas further.  This is an essential part of the garden design process, as it ensures our plans will be tailored to your specifications.

Seeing the site in person allows us to understand any constraints and opportunities that may impact our design layout, as well as understand how your garden can best complement your lifestyle.

Step 4

3D site survey

While at your site, we will conduct a thorough 3D survey of the landscape. This allows us to capture the exact dimensions of the garden, as well as highlight any features you want to keep and incoperate, which will inform our garden design.

Through this accurate planning, we can ensure that every aspect of your garden design will work with the landscape, property, and surroundings and resolve any issues before the creative process begins.

Step 5

Design development/Concept

Using the information gathered so far in our garden design process, we bring your ideas to life through our 3D garden design technology, where every detail—from the planting to the paving materials—is visualised realistically.

At this concept stage, you’ll have the opportunity to review the design, share your feedback, and request any changes you’d like to see. We’ll refine the visuals until you’re happy with every element before moving on to the next stage, which is a video call to walk you through the updated design in detail.

Step 6

Video Call / Virtual Tour

We will walk you through your garden design through a video with the team, panorama views, and virtual tours. This allows you to see the garden from all angles before any work begins and ensures you are completely happy with the choices made by our team.

This stage of the garden design process should get you excited for the future of your landscape. You will also have the opportunity to share your thoughts with the team and make any final adjustments before we finalise your design.

Step 7

Design Presentation

Step 7 brings you back into our showroom for the full presentation of your garden design. Here, we walk you through the completed visuals, explain the features in detail, and provide a clear, itemised breakdown of all construction costs.

This appointment gives you the chance to fully understand how the design will be brought to life and to ask any questions about materials, layouts or budget. If you’d like small refinements at this stage, we can note them before moving the project forward into the build‑planning phase.

This step ensures complete clarity and confidence before any work begins on site.

Step 8

The Build

Once the design has been approved by you, our team begins the transformation. We will bring your vision to life, from the groundwork to the finishing touches.

Every stage of the build is handled with care, precision, and a commitment to the highest standards of craftsmanship to create stunning gardens that withstand the test of time.

All materials used during the construction phase have been pre-approved by you and are chosen for their style, durability, and integration with the surrounding architecture.

Step 9

Aftercare and Maintenance

Our garden design process doesn’t end once the garden is complete. We will provide guidance, maintenance plans, and professional support to ensure your landscape continues to flourish for years to come.

Our team is always on hand to offer additional landscaping services and advice regarding the maintenance of your new outdoor space. We would love to keep in touch to see how the garden progresses over time.
