At the beginning of the year, ALS Landscaping was approached by a client looking to renovate their garden ahead of the spring season. This project took place in Heighington, a village in Worcestershire, and had several steps.
Project Overview: Garden Design Heighington
Our client approached us at the beginning of 2024 with a request to completely overhaul and makeover their garden. They wanted the garden transformation to be timed with the approach of spring, so they could spend more time outdoors and cultivate a healthy landscape.
Initial Consultation
After visiting the site and understanding more about our client’s desires, our expert designers developed an initial plan for the garden design Heighington. This garden vision was an interactive process, as we used our incredible 3D visual programming.
This made it easier for our clients to get the whole picture of the intended garden design and allowed for better modifications, per their requests. Following these modifications, the design was perfectly tailored to suit our client’s preferences and we set a tentative kick-off date for the warmer months of 2024.
The Build: A Harmonious Blend Of Materials
Following the consultation and the design process, this garden design project took us three weeks to bring to life.
To add texture and aesthetics to the garden, we used a beautiful mixture of materials including porcelain and block paving. Porcelain paving is a wonderful material for outdoor spaces looking to evoke a sense of elegance, while also being incredibly durable.
These paved areas were bordered with a contrasting block paved edging, neatly defining the areas of this meticulously planned space.
Adding Natural Interest
As the main portion of this garden design project was the paving, natural interest had to be added creatively. This is why we incorporated raised sleeper beds and an archway, which became a focal point.
The raised sleeper beds allowed for a range of plants to be installed at a later date, adding depth to the landscape.
Arena turf was used to add yet more greenery to the newly paved garden, which is one of our most popular options. This turf is known for its resilience and adaptability, offering lush green grass all year round.
The Finishing Touch: Retaining Wall
To finish off the design and to secure the structural integrity of the garden our team constructed a retaining wall. This was then clad and coped in porcelain to seamlessly blend in with the new porcelain paving.
This not only added structure to the space, but additional visual interest and completed the project after several weeks.
