This project by ALS Landscaping took place in the summer of 2024, where we renovated a garden to align with our customers’ needs and budget. This stunning yet budget-conscious garden features honey limestone paving, gabion seating, a firepit zone and block-paved paths to accommodate entertaining and hosting.
Garden Design Saxilby Overview
This project began with a garden design created by Ricky in 2024. The clients were working within a tight budget, so we carefully refined the garden design to retain their key ideas while making smart adjustments to keep costs under control.
Although a few changes were made during the construction phase, the final build stayed true to the original concept and delivered the look and functionality the clients wanted.
Natural Stone & Contemporary Garden Features
The main material chosen for the garden was Natural Honey Limestone paving from Brett, providing a warm, timeless finish with subtle variation and character.
To enhance the layout and create an inviting social space, we integrated:
- Gabion baskets with built-in hardwood seating for the firepit area
- Block-paved paths linking key areas of the garden
- Gravel grid paths for permeability and stability
- Metal edging to create clean transitions between hard and soft landscaping
- New planting to soften the structure and bring colour and texture
This balanced combination of features created a stylish and functional garden at an affordable cost.
Festoon Lighting for Evening Atmosphere
To complete the space, we installed festoon lighting, adding warmth and ambience during summer evenings and making the garden usable long after sunset.
Project Duration And Outcome
This garden design project was delivered by Tony’s team, who carried out the construction in the hottest part of the summer, working in temperatures exceeding 30°C. Despite the challenging conditions, the entire build was completed in just 2 weeks, showcasing the team’s efficiency and dedication.
