A Day to Remember: ALS Landscaping’s Open Day Celebration

This past Bank Holiday Monday, the community of Lincoln had the pleasure of stepping into a world of green innovation and local charm at ALS Landscaping’s Open Day event.

Hosted at Thrace Glade, The Old Wood, Skellingthorpe, this event wasn’t just a showcase of our latest show garden and landscaping expertise; it was a vibrant celebration of community spirit and the love of gardening.

We were blessed with the weather too. Rare as it may be in Lincolnshire, we had wall to wall sunshine.

A Feast for the Senses

From 10 am to 4 pm, guests were treated to a range of sensory delights. The air was filled with the scent of freshly baked pizza from our wood-fired oven – a true slice of Italian delight right here in Lincoln. Not to be outdone, Daisy Made Farm brought along their renowned ice cream van, serving up what many call the best ice cream in Lincolnshire. It was a perfect treat for a sunny day!

More Than Just a Garden

The highlight for many was undoubtedly the grand reveal of our new show garden. This space has been crafted with care and creativity, showcasing the innovative designs that ALS Landscaping is best known for. Our landscaping showroom was also open for guests, offering a glimpse into the wide range of possibilities we offer for transforming outdoor spaces.

Expert Advice on Hand

For those looking to bring a little of the ALS magic into their own gardens, our garden designer was available throughout the day, ready to discuss visitors’ existing garden pics and ideas. Our plant horticulturist, Terry, was also on hand to chat about plant choices, offering his expert advice to both novice gardeners and seasoned green thumbs alike.

Supporting Local Causes

At ALS Landscaping, we believe in giving back to the community that has supported us so steadfastly. This event wasn’t just about gardens and gardening; it was also about supporting a local cause close to our hearts. We held a raffle to raise funds for the Skellingthorpe Scout Hut roof renovation, with prizes including a free garden design among other fantastic items. We’ll be announcing the winner and how much we raised on our social media platforms soon; make sure you give us a like and a follow!

A Community Comes Together

As the day drew to a close, we were reminded of the power of community and the shared passion for gardening that brings us together. It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces and to meet new friends as well. We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm of everyone who attended, making our Open Day a resounding success.

Reflections and Looking Ahead

Reflecting on the day, we’re struck by the connections made and the conversations had. It’s clear that our community is deeply passionate about gardening and the environment. The discussions around sustainable gardening practices and landscape conservation were particularly enriching, highlighting the collective commitment to not only beautify our surroundings but also preserve them.
